Mixtapezine was all about making time for the small things. It blended craft, eco-cool, and pop culture kitsch into something fun and unique.

It started as a scrappy home-printed zine, cranked out on a basic black and white laser printer. But word spread, demand grew, and before long it had turned into a professionally printed magazine. Even as it got bigger, Mixtapezine never lost its DIY spirit and built a loyal following around the world.

The masthead was developed by using sewing tape measures and forming them into the letter shapes. We then redrew the form and simplified things to echo the hand nature and ‘crafty’ vibes that were at the core of the zine

The early issues were A5 and printed through a standard photocopy printer. As more people got into it, we moved from photocopying to home printing and eventually to offset printing.

That shift meant we could rethink the format. We went with a larger square layout that gave the design and content more space to breathe.
